Environmental Coordinators

(Return to EFO home)

The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) continues to prioritize customer service, education and outreach with the Environmental Coordinator (EC) staff. Fittingly housed under the Office of Environmental Assistance (OEA), these staff work from Regional Environmental Field Offices to offer statewide assistance. As non-regulatory staff, the Environmental Coordinators:

  • Manage regional community education and outreach activities
  • Act as a regional contact for the Office of Environmental Assistance programs including Small Business Environmental Assistance Program (SBEAP), Environmental Justice (EJ), Education and Outreach Program (EO), Grants and Awards and Fleming Training Center (FTC).
  • Provide compliance information and technical assistance to citizens, business, industry and academia
  • Assist with development and implementation of pollution prevention activities by promotion of the Tennessee Pollution Prevention Partnership (TP3) and the Tennessee Pollution Prevention Roundtable (TP2R)
  • Elevate environmental awareness and resource conservation through planning and participation in conferences, air quality organizations, water quality alliances and regional forums
  • Serve as a local contact to customers who are required to obtain multiple permits from different TDEC divisions (e.g., Division of Water Pollution Control, Division of Solid Waste Management)

The following are events in which the Environmental Coordinators regularly participate at varying levels:
