The Administrative and Policy Support includes the Director, Administrative Secretary and Administrative Assistant. This program manages all administrative, budgetary, and policy functions of the Division and provides support for all other program areas.
The Division has also been recognized as an important participant in multi-agency cooperative conservation initiatives. The Division typically represents the Department's interests at policy and technical level conservation meetings and initiatives, and at meetings of the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Commission and the Tennessee Forestry Commission. Additionally, the Director coordinates land acquisition projects for the Division.
The Division of Natural Areas is committed to protecting Tennessee's vast natural heritagethrough its many program activities. A strength of the Division is the dedication and commitment of its staff and the cooperative partnerships upon which its successful conservation and restoration activities are built. One of the Division's greatest values is in the provision of technical assistance to public and private land managers to help ensure that resource management and development decisions are made with full knowledge of the significance and value of the resource at hand.
